Dr. Bob Jacobs, Professor Emeritus at Bradley University, holds a PhD in Dramatic Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His career in television and film began while still in college, leading him to work with major studios such as Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, MGM, and 20th Century Fox, where he was a contract player. Just as his career was gaining momentum, Dr. Jacobs was drafted into the U.S. Air Force, where he served for five and a half years as a motion picture officer. During this time, he was involved in what has become known as the Big Sur UFO case—an incident that has since been corroborated by other military personnel.
The Big Sur incident, which occurred in 1964, involved footage capturing an unidentified craft shooting down a dummy nuclear warhead using beams of light. Over the years, Dr. Jacobs has faced significant harassment for his disclosures about this military UFO encounter. In 2019, he co-authored CONFESSION: Our Hidden Alien Encounters Revealed, which explores these experiences and their broader implications.
Now a freelance writer, Dr. Jacobs produces a weekly feature series, Postcards From Home, for the CBS affiliate in Peoria and NBC affiliate WCIA in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Additionally, he produces one long-form documentary or feature production annually.
