Linda Napolitano
Born 1947
Nationality Italian-American
Occupation Housewife / Abductee / Co-author

Linda Napolitano lived an ordinary life as a housewife in Manhattan, sharing a home with her husband and two children. However, everything changed on the night of November 30, 1989, when she claims to have been abducted by three gray, bipedal creatures from her 12th-floor apartment. According to Napolitano, she was paralyzed and lifted through a beam of blue light into a spaceship, where the aliens performed experiments on her before returning her to her bed.

Adding an intriguing twist to her account, Napolitano maintains that 23 witnesses observed her rising through the sky into a UFO near the Brooklyn Bridge that night. Among these witnesses was a prominent government official—rumored to be UN Secretary-General Javier Pérez de Cuéllar.

In a 2013 interview with Vanity Fair, Napolitano remarked, “If I was hallucinating, then the witnesses saw my hallucination. That sounds crazier than the whole abduction phenomenon.” Yet, critics have raised doubts about the credibility of her story, noting that the identities of most of the alleged witnesses remain unverified. Nonetheless, Napolitano’s case continues to capture the imagination of UFO enthusiasts to this day.

Linda Napolitano’s UFO Encounter: The Night She Floated Through the Manhattan Sky

On the early morning of November 30, 1989, Linda Napolitano was fast asleep next to her husband when something stirred her awake around 3 a.m. A strange, unsettling feeling gripped her — something was not right. As she looked around, she saw a group of small gray beings standing over her, their black eyes fixed on her. According to Napolitano, the aliens communicated with her telepathically, ordering her to remain silent. Paralysis took hold of her, rendering her unable to call out to her husband for help.
A bright blue beam of light then pierced her window, lifting her from the bed and carrying her into the night sky. The next thing she remembers is being inside a large, oval-shaped spaceship. The beings led her into an examination room, where they placed her on a table and inserted a strange metallic device into her nose.

Then, as abruptly as it had begun, Napolitano woke up in her bed beside her husband, as if nothing had occurred.
Initially, Napolitano dismissed the ordeal as an extraordinarily vivid dream. However, her perception changed when she discovered a strange lump in her nose. She sought medical attention, and an X-ray allegedly revealed something lodged inside her nasal passage. Later, a throat and nose specialist examined her and found no object but noted a buildup of cartilage, suggesting that something had been there recently.
With 23 witnesses reportedly confirming her story, Napolitano’s account stands as one of the most intriguing and widely discussed UFO encounters of the past 35 years.
